Scales Pharmacy was established in 2014. We’re located in the heart of Denver’s Uptown Neighborhood and focused on treating the whole patient, especially those with HIV and other complicated disease states, while never compromising our exceptional level of customer service.

At Scales we are all committed to giving back to our community and you can find us in Benedict Fountain Park, no less than once week a week picking up trash and keeping the park clean. We would love to meet new friends and be honored if you would join us to keep our neighborhood clean and safe. Give us a call or check our News & Events page to find out our next Gathering at the Park.

Dan moved from Indianapolis, IN to Denver after graduating with his Doctorate of Pharmacy from Butler University in 2007. It was love of the mountains, specifically rock climbing, skiing, and running, that pulled Dan to Colorado, but ultimately it was passion for the community that rooted him in Denver. His desire to deliver complete patient care and push the practice of community pharmacy forward drove him to open Scales Pharmacy in 2014, leaving a 14 year career with a large chain behind. When he is not working he enjoys spending time indoors and out with his beautiful wife, amazing son, as well as his parents, brother, and friends who have also relocated to Colorado. He is humbled by the community of patients, customers, and colleagues that have been so supportive of Scales Pharmacy and looks forward to serving and collaborating with all of you for the next several decades.

Pharmacy Manager

Natalie graduated with Dan from Butler University in Indianapolis, also receiving her Doctorate of Pharmacy, and moved to Colorado in 2009. Through good fortune Natalie honed her skills as a manager with a large grocery chain, and ultimately shifted her practice focus to clinical settings, managing the public health clinical pharmacy for Denver’s largest hospital. Almost by accident Dan and Natalie reconnected just a few short months before the opening of Scales Pharmacy. Her clinical knowledge in HIV care, and her strength as a pharmacy manager completed the vision of what Scales Pharmacy needed to be, and helped build the foundation of what it has become. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, hiking, and biking with her two daughters, and her husband, as well as making apple butter and other treats for her coworkers.

Megan graduated with her Doctorate of Pharmacy from University of Colorado in 2015, and joined the Scales Pharmacy team just a few months later. She is the only pharmacist on our team with a background in independent pharmacy prior to joining Scales Pharmacy, serving as the NCPA Chapter President while attending CU. Her passion to advance pharmacy practice has helped shape all of our new clinical programs, though her love of giving vaccinations has raised an eyebrow or two (she really wants to stab you). As of October 2018, she is the first pharmacist working at Scales Pharmacy to be certified as an HIV clinical expert by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Outside of work you will find Megan on the slopes, very possibly in giant inflatable dinosaur costumes, or traveling as much as possible.

Pharmacy Technician

Kevin graduated PIMA Medical Institute as a nationally certified pharmacy technician in 2004, and started his career with a large chain working at multiple locations in and around Denver. His ability to work through and solve logistical problems, and willingness to go far above and beyond what was “expected” of him, all for the sake of his patients, made Kevin an absolute must have one of the founding four members of the Scales Pharmacy team. Nearly all of the daily operation processes were developed out of Kevin’s concepts and his careful and thoughtful planning. When he is not working Kevin enjoys spending time with this family and girlfriend, as well as making fun of Dan for falling asleep at concerts.

Pharmacy Technician

Nicole also has roots in independent pharmacy, working at Yosemite Drug before it was acquired by a large chain. She carried on with the large chain running their largest compounding lab in the state and establishing herself as a regional compound trainer for the chain’s compounding stores in surrounding states. Her strengths managing an entire compound department as well as her knowledge of formulation development made Nicole another must have as one of the founding member of Scales Pharmacy. Nicole has been essential in creating every policy and process related to our compounding programs and she has personally developed nearly all of our formulations. When she is not at the pharmacy she is spending time with her extended family, her husband, and her kitties, or playing silly games on her phone.

“I’m humbled and grateful to the community and the friends, family and staff that are making it happen.”
